We’re demonstrating this using Ubuntu 14.10 “Yakkety Yak”, on a MacBook Air running the latest version of macOS Sierra. To live boot into Linux on Mac, you will first have to create a Live USB for the distro you want. Past just fine however recently I was trying to install on a really old PC for use as a server and it would hang at the USB boot menu when I tried to boot over USB. I just need to create bootable linux usb so I can install it on mac machine.
